Frank Baensch is a marine biologist and avid fish culturist and
the manager of Reef Culture Technologies LLC (RCT). His passion
is and always has been the ocean.
Growing up in the Bahamas, he began studying and keeping marine
life at a very young age. He was first exposed to the propagation
of marine organisms working with warm-water food fish at the Hawaiian
Institute of Marine Biology. The field of aquaculture captivated
him and was his focus in graduate school. In 1995 he obtained his
Master’s of Science at the University of Hawaii, specializing
in aquaculture, oceanography and other marine sciences. Frank then
applied his knowledge to marine ornamentals. He designed and built
a small experimental hatchery where he developed the practical culture
skills necessary to become an accomplished breeder. In June of 2001
he founded Reef Culture Technologies LLC.
