Work can take out the most of your productivity, so you’ll need some hobbies. One of those hobbies can be fish.
Fish can be enjoyed in two ways: you can go fishing—you can catch fish and return it to the water or you can catch it and eat it. You can also watch fish; you can buy them, see them as they are swimming, and enjoy a peaceful feeling as provided by the Zen-like experience.
On a serious note, this industry is expanding quite fast although the methodology for its growth remains rooted in old-school systems. Catching fish, shrimps, and other aquatic life considered as pet or as food is still done manually. As such, destructive practices still abound and the process still leaves a lot to be desired.
The solution, as Reef Culture Technologies (RCT) saw it, was to process fish and shrimp for any purpose by culturing techniques. Selective breeding of pet species—which is RCT’s main and top business—is what we have taken as the answer to creating a viable solution towards protecting natural marine life and their habitat.
By this, we envision our company as a partner in preserving marine bio-life, whether it’s the fish or the coral reefs and other creatures. With so little of them left untouched, we are trying to avoid a future where we need to recreate these habitats in a controlled environment too.
RCT is a fully-private owned company operating off the beautiful shores of Oahu in the state of Hawaii.
